This adventurous beginner, top-down sweatshirt pattern includes a loose, drop-shoulder and crewneck, and the option to work this cropped or full length, and hooded or crewneck! This cozy boucle and classic sweatshirt fit will have you making a full set for every cozy beach night. This pattern is perfect for any body, any yarn, and any skill level.
Sizes
This pattern is written to meet the finished measurements in the chart provided below, with finished bust sizes: 32, 36, 40 (44, 48, 52, 56)60, 64, 68, 72“/81.5, 91.5, 102 (112, 122, 132.5, 142.5)152.5, 163, 173, 183cm.
The sample was knit to about 10”/25cm of positive ease (larger than my largest measurement) throughout. The sweater would look wonderful with anywhere between 6”/15.5cm and 10”/25cm of positive ease.
Materials
You will need one BOR marker, darning needle, waste yarn or spare needle, scissors, measuring tape, and your super amazing body.
Techniques
You will need to know how to cast on, knit in the round, purl, increase, cast-on mid-row, work German short-rows, sewn bind-off, block, weave in ends, and have fun.
Suggested Yarn
Schooner from thelittlewolfknits: 100% superwash merino, DK weight, single-ply boucle, 240yd/220m per 100g. The sample used three skeins of Flats or Drums?.
The sample also used one skein of Rusted Spokes on 420 from thelittlewolfknits: 100% superwash merino, DK weight, 8-ply, 274yd/250 m.
Any DK weight boucle or heavy DK should work – just make sure to adjust to get gauge.

Color Suggestions
Like I said, this pattern is perfect for any yarn, and can be made with a tonal or variegated AND it would make amazing scrappy project. Have random odds and ends lying around? Use them for a fun stripey version!
Suggested Needles
Main Needle: US 7 (4.5mm) circular needle
Ribbing Needle: US 5 (3.75mm) circular needle
But use whatever needle you need to achieve gauge!

Gauge
16 sts x 24 rounds = 4”/10cm stockinette knit in the round and blocked with your main needle. When swatching, remember to cast on more stitches than you’re intending to measure so that you can get an accurate measurement (the end and beginning stitches tend to be looser). I recommend using this tutorial to start and finish the swatch for the most accurate measurements.

If making the hood, you’ll need an additional 188, 188, 192 (192, 195, 198, 201)205, 208, 211, 214yd/172, 172, 174 (174, 177, 180, 183)186, 189, 192, 195m of 420 for CC.
